the classifications!

the pure!

The Pure is made up of witches and wizards of pure blood. Family trees are required to prove the quality of blood with the Ministry of Magic. As it is rare for a family to be one hundred percent pure, a blip in the tree is allowed so long as it is at least four generations back. The Pure enjoy all the perks of Voldemort's new government. They are eligible to hold high-ranking positions, receive benefits from the Ministry of Magic, and are generally permitted to do as they please as long as they do not challenge Voldemort or the Ministry.

the tainted!

The Tainted is made up of witches and wizards of questionable blood. They are not pure, but they have more magical blood than muggleborns. In Voldemort's regime, the Tainted make up the working class, and they work for minimal wages. Common occupations for the Tainted include desk workers, clerks, and custodians. Some witches and wizards who fall into this classification are taken into the homes of the Pure as servants, cooks, maids, butlers governesses, and/or mistresses. Children in this classification are almost always assigned work in the home of a pureblood. If, by chance, a witch or wizard in this category had any notoriety, title, inheritance, or riches before Voldemort came into power, he or she has since been stripped of it. The Tainted were all removed from their homes and placed in government housing on the outskirts of Diagon Alley to be monitored by the Ministry of Magic. Their vaults at Gringott's were closed, and it is assumed that any money within has gone to the Ministry.

the filth!

The extermination of the muggleborns, the werewolves, the squibs etc began early. It was too risky to allow them to live. They contaminated and the polluted the community. Allowing them to continue to live meant they could divulge secrets, form a rebellion, or do any manner of vile things. Obliviating the lot of them was a waste of energy in Voldemort's eyes. Killing them was much more efficient. The Filth who remain today are those who fled into hiding early in Voldemort's days of power. Some fled the country, some the continent. Some simply hid in the woods or in the homes of trusted and brave friends. The punishment for any member of the Filth discovered is immediate death. The punishment for those found aiding and/or hiding a member of the Filth is an immediate trial with the Wizengamot, at which time a jury will determine whether said aid should be sentenced to imprisonment or death.
